Very nice and powerful book organizer for paper, electronic and audio books.
This software can automatically gather info from the internet concerning any ebook or audiobook you may have stored in your PC and enables you to find any book by the title, barcode, author, publishing year etc...
It also supports any e-book reader devices allowing you to copy an ebook to them literally with a mouse click.
So forget the misleading USER GAOTD RATING SYSTEM and download this software without hesitation asap, if you have like me a vast collection of books at home and in your machine.
Does this mean I would pay 40 bucks for a software like this? Of course NOT....LOL!!

umm, calibre doesn't do the same thing as this tool. "This book organizer will collect information about electronic, *audio and paper books* from your library." ... this is an inventory-management tool, and calibre is an ebook-management tool.
Apparently, the program can't find books in other languages than English. E.g. I would need to search for Danish titles and books with Danish ISBN-numbers, which doesn't seem to work, alas. I tried to enter ISBN as well as titles of the few English books that I have on my shelves, and that worked like a dream. All relevant information popped up in a second - along with a thumbnail showing the book cover. The illustration made it easy to choose the right book from a list, when an entered title gave more than one result
ISBN numbers may easily be typed in manually, and, obviously, in that case only one search result will appear.
I've been working as a school librarian for many years, and I believe that a private person who has a large collection of books and other literary media could benefit a lot from Booknizer ... but only if the collection consists in English/American literature.

I was pretty impressed with the product as it found 2 books and populated the info in less than 5 seconds per book by title entry method. At first I was put off by what seemed like advertising on the main opening page on a GOTD product, however you can push the advertising main page out of the way. Having not tried other product, this one will meet my needs, so thank you GOTD and Booknizer for this offering. I have a ASUS G53SX and I was not able to figure out the barcode entry method so if anyone is successful with this method please share your results. I went to the forum on Booknizer and no one had commented on the barcode entry method so I thought I would wait to see if someone here figures it out. If not I will post the question to their support. Peace All.
I'd like to point out that "LibraryThing" is NOT free and it isn't just a catalog program. Only the frist 200 books are free, otherwise it's $10/year or $25/life (not much, but not free). If you don't have a significant library, then this might work for you.
You also catalog with other people - "a cataloging and social networking site for book lovers." Based on the web tour, it appears that other users' comments and thoughts are brought up with the title. To me, that makes the info page too crowded. When I'm looking at a book in my library, I'm interested in the facts about the book and what I think about it. Why would I care about someone else's thoughts? Also, this appears to be strictly web based. While that will work for some people, I want my catalog available when I want it.
BiblioteQ on the other hand looks awesome.
Right now I can only speak about the developer: I grabbed "Movienizer" when it was last offered on GAOTD. I have to say, even though I wasn't a "customer", I did get a question answered by the developer. I've been using "Movienizer" since then and have been fairly happy with it. The interface is clear and concise (Booknizer uses the same interface). Questions posted on the forums are answered very quickly. This is a new offering by the devs, so there are few questions on the forums. Even though I've been looking for software to handle my huge library, I've been hesitant to buy this for $40. First because it's $40 and I'm cheap, and second because I don't know how well it will work, so I'm happy for this GAOTD.

Bij #4 heb ik de regfile gemaakt uit de regfile in de Cameyo portable. Maar op basis van je tip heb ik een aparte regfile in de uitwisselmap gezet. Inhoudelijk natuurlijk identiek met die in de zip.
OT: gisteren heb ik een op Sony laptop met de VUT (2006) weer eens XP 32 SP3 van een Dell gezet (de originele herstelschijf van Sony doet het niet meer). En geen virtual XP, maar Timefreeze van Toolwiz (tip van @^@) om de machine na de installatie van het weggevertje weer in oude situatie terug te brengen. Ook erop: Cameyo, 7Zip, Zone Alarm, Google Chrome, SandboxIE en RegFromApp. En de wolkers DropBox en Wuala. De eerste om tussenresultaten voor mijzelf te bewaren en de tweede tbv de uitwisselmap voor ingewijden. Vandaag gebruik ik deze machine.

Een acceptabel alternatief voor al deze progjes is m.i. Datacrow. Een database die, als je wilt, bijna alles kan vastleggen. Je kunt hem gratis gebruiken en downloaden bij www.datacrow.net

Heb je de setup gedraaid of emkel de activate.
De activate activeerd het aangeboden programma, die met de setup geïnstalleerd kan worden.
Bij het afsluiten van activate wordt er een vraag gesteld om iets extra's, "software informer" te installeren. Dat kan uitgevinkt worden.
Dus hebt je 2 programma's gedraaid, die allen voordien in map zijn uitgepakt?

De software zoals hier aangeboden deugt niet. Ik zou graag zien dat u de sotware eerst test. Ik gaf bij installatie aan dat ik geen toolbar wilde en tóch wordt er een toolbar geïnstallerd. Dit vind ik kwalijk. Ik heb het wel weer weg kunnen halen achteraf, maar het klopt gewoon niet. En de installatie instructies kwamen niet eens tevoorschijn. Er gebeurde gewoon van alles waar ik even geen invloed op had. En ondanks dat ik 2x op uitvoeren hebt geklikt, is er niets geïnstalleerd bahalve de toolbar.

If you need to catalogue titles in the follwoing foreign languages: Russian, German, French, Italian, Spanish try doing this:
1. download and istall trial version of Bookenizer in this langiage from their website
2. Download GAOTD version and install it over foreign language version
You should then have a registered foreing language version.
And of course it still does English.

Toch niet zo vreemd. Calibra vormt geen alternatief.
Calibra is er om je digitale boeken te beheren en te converteren.
Bij de GOTD gaat het om fysieke boeken met een kaft bijvoorbeeld.
De GOTD geeft info (download) over je boeken:
-waar hangen ze uit (handig bij uitlenen of terugvinden in je enorme huisbibliotheek)
-soteert desgewenst de boeken op auteur
-synopsis van een boek
etc.

@Gergn, voor als de zon te veel gaat branden :) ik heb snel even gekeken, misschien kun je er wat mee.
De GOTD heeft een iets nieuwer versienr. dan de trial.
Van belang zijn alleen ZLib.dll en Booknizer.exe om trial en GOTD gelijk te maken (niet persé nodig).
Overigens kan de trial ook zo ("as is") met activate.exe geregistreerd worden (Help/about).
Van Activate.exe kan en reg.file gemaakt worden (die heeft dan geen GOTD-date check of Themida). Voor Cameyo zal de reg-file makkelijker zijn dan activate.exe (i-net contact en Themida).
De GOTD-setup heeft geen GOTD-date check of Themida en kan bewaard worden net als de trial samen met de activate.reg-file.

Als je 700 boeken erin hebt staan is een bedrag van € 35,- niet echt veel. 20 cent per boek.
Of je een SQL-mannetje in dienst, die de database even voor je uitpluist.
Als je zeker wilt zijn, dat je in de toekomst nog steeds bij je database kan komen, klop je zelf alles in een open pakket, Libre Office, Open Office etc.
Mijn zusje heeft alle boeken in Excel staan, stuk of 5000. Loopt prima.
Je moet alleen Excel kunnen beheersen en kunnen programmeren.

Installation
Unzip the package you`ve downloaded and install the software by running Setup.exe,
then run the activation program Activate.exe which is included in the package to register your copy.
!!! .GCD file included is necessary for correct installation and activation. Please make sure to extract all enclosed files in the same directory.!!!
NB: if you are a Vista OS user you will probably need to run Setup.exe and Activate.exe in the name of administrator on the PC.
