After installation copy program’s directory wherever you like (USB,...).The package is kind of huge ~73,6 MB. If you want to reduce the size :
1. Compress all exe and dll files in every directory. You can use UPX, it's free (http://upx.sourceforge.net/)
Size: ~73,6 MB ---> ~53,8 MB
2. Open program and create/burn bootable disk (Tool --> Create Bootable Disc)
3. Go to bin directory and delete "image.iso" file
Size: ~53,8 MB ---> ~24,8 MB
Now you got Portable EASEUS Partition Master 5.5.1 Professional Edition size of ~24,8 MB
(~ 73,6 MB ---> ~24,8 MB).
EASEUS Partition Master is a very good app -- because they have different features I use both EASEUS Partition Master & Paragon's Partition Mgr... when it comes to partitioning, the chief difference is Paragon's software likes to adjust or fix Windows for you, & that's not always wanted. For example if you copy a system (Windows) partition, Paragon apps will make that new partition the one your PC/laptop uses. That's great if you're replacing a drive, but sometimes gets in the way when you're not. [1 example: many PCs/motherboards give you the option to boot from whatever drive you want when it (re)starts -- you might want to copy a Windows' partition to an external drive, but keep using your PC/laptop as is] Paragon has also developed the capability to copy your Windows' partition to a drive in another PC/laptop, then change the drivers so Windows will actually fire up -- normally that requires a re-install to add the correct system [motherboard etc] drivers -- so Paragon's design approach is not bad -- just different.
That said, working with drive partitions is kind of like sending a simple text e-mail -- there are all sorts of programs you can use to write & send it, but the recipient will get the same e-mail regardless. If you're going to partition a new hard drive, it'll work whether you use Windows, the free Linux solution, GParted on a bootable CD, or in this case EASEUS Partition Master. EASEUS would obviously like people to buy their product, so they add extra features, like Partition Copy & the new abilities to Rebuild the MBR [Master Boot Record], defrag a hard drive, & secure erase.
I haven't used EASEUS Partition Master to rebuild the MBR, & don't plan to... I don't PLAN on messing up my system drive so it's necessary. ;-) Paragon Backup shows the MBR as the 1st drive track, & can back it up independently (without backing up the full partition). I have restored those MBR backups, more than once I'm sad to say [having a MBR that needs restored is not a good thing]. While restoring from backup is almost guaranteed to work, rebuilding/repairing the MBR is not. Still, it's worth having the capability if/when for whatever reason I can't just restore a MBR backup, & I'd try EASEUS 1st in that case based on my success using their Partition Table Doctor [IMHO the EASEUS developers really do know what they're doing.].
Copying a partition is much like restoring a backup image to a new partition/drive [aka cloning], but can have an important difference... when you copy, the partition file tables are new. If you use Microsoft's NTFS (NT file system), you may/may not know that it keeps a permanent record of any bad sectors on a partition -- that record's cloned with everything else, so if you're replacing a failing drive, a cloned new one will show all the same bad sectors. There are probably other reasons to copy rather than clone, but that's the one I've come across in actual use -- I'm lazy, & having a backup image created as part of the cloning process, moving to a new drive/partition, means there's one less backup I have to do. ;-)
As far as partitioning a hard drive goes, the biggest single reason today IMHO is the huge size of many hard drives today... The way I shop for hard drives is similar to the way I buy food, comparing the cost per ounce, or with hard drives, cost per 1 GB. A smaller, but still big hard drive may cost ~$0.11 GB, while a huge (1 - 1.5 TB) drive may cost only $0.06. Lots of folks do the same thing [dealnews.com always lists the cost per GB] -- lots of folks likely are just as unhappy as I am when disk checking [thorough], formatting etc. Huge drives = *Very* long waits. Dividing a huge drive into smaller, much more manageable partitions can cut those waits down to something much easier to live with.
Correction to my previous post in which I said that todays giveaway can be made portable just by copying programs directory. It can not be done that way. I apologize if I misled anybody.

Bob vertelde niet, waar de images moeten komen. Ik denk, dat hij ervan uitging dat Karolien begreep, dat ze extern opgeslagen moeten worden.
Op cd/dvd of usb-disk. nl als er iets goed fout gaat, ben je de d: ook kwijt. De info over de groottes van de schijven was wel handig geweest.
Heeft het wel zin om er überhaupt aan te beginnen?
Ook, dat de temp etc. geleegd dienen te worden, swapfile verwijderen, cookies etc (cCcleaner oid. werk).
Daarom werk ik het liefst van boot-cd, starten met usb-disk alvast aangesloten. Wordt gelijk herkent.

Als de C (waar de besturing opstaat) haast helemaal vol is, dan moet je de immage van de C (+ nog eentje van de D zeg je) uiteraard op de D zetten, maar waarom nog 'n extra immage van de D op de D ?
Vooraleer je Karolien zo iets laat uitvoeren zou je best eens vragen hoe groot de partitie C en D zijn, haar C immage past misschien helemaal niet op de D.

Toen ik jouw reactie las wat betreft Cyber wou ik eigenlijk meteen reageren. Ik heb gisteren ook "zijn" twee commentaren gelezen. Mijn inziens is de eerste NIET van Cyber en de tweede WEL. Cyber heeft het door zijn prietpraat voor zichzelf een beetje verpest. Er zijn echter meerdere personen die onzinnig bezig zijn. Er is ook iemand die jouw bijdragen niet op prijs stelt. Dat mag maar dan wel onder eigen naam.
Zelf geef je al aan dat je niet zeker bent of het "de" Cyber betreft.
Hoewel ik je reactie ten volste begrijp vind ik het eigenlijk niet gepast om hem ten onrechte(?)te beschuldigen. Ik heb eerlijk gezegd liever te doen met personen die slap lullen en verder niets verkeerd doen dan gluiperds die een ander's naam misbruiken en reacties uitlokken om verwarring te stichten en de boel hier te vergallen.

Zo-even Easeus geinstalleerd. Had deze toch al als 5.0.1 dus wat was er tegen inruilen van de een tegen de andere? Ziet er allemaal prachtig uit maar een vergelijking kan ik nog niet maken. Je bent immers de vorige kwijt. Wel zij opgemerkt dat ik met die vorige zonder probleem mijn wel erg kleine C partitie heb vergroot. Heb van de werkwijze toen hier uitvoerig verslag gedaan.
Wel is er nu een mogelijkheid om de MBR te herstellen of opnieuw, en dat is me nog niet echt helder. En misschien meerderen niet? Daar zijn de super weters toch voor nodig. De echte deskundigen wel te verstaan.
De download deed de halve wereld kennelijk, want mijn toch redelijk snelle verbinding met meestal 300Mb en toppen van 400 boemelde voort met tusen 20 en 30 Mb/sec. Groet van Willem b.

Als partitioneren wel kan (ik heb hier geen verstand van),
b.v. in twee parties, dan is het misschien toch mogelijk
de eerste fat32 te laten en de tweede te converteren naar NTFS,
want mijn eigen interne schijf is opgedeeld in drie parties C en D en E. (C en D heeft NTFS en E heeft FAT32.)
Misschien kan iemand anders hier meer duidelijkheid over geven.

Ik heb mijn multimedia werkend op de PC en TV (via HDMI)
Echter veel van mijn grotere films kan ik niet afspelen door FAT32 (intern wordt aangegeven max 2GB bestanden, maar heb ook wel eeredr gelezen tot 4GB op FAT32) Om die reden ben ik benieuwd of het omzetten van FAT32 naar NTFS geen problemen zal geven op een multimedia disk.
Mijn tweede wens is om hierop een tweede partition te zetten van 500GB als backup plaats voor mijn PC, maar uiteraard alleen als dit niet ten koste gaat van de multimedia functionaliteit.
Dus 1 partition 1,5TB voor films en muziek
en 1 partition 0.5TB backup plaats PC
Als dat gaat kan ik mijn 320GB+500GB (intern en extern) voor windows, programma's en mogenlijk een virtueledisk gebruiken.
Ik heb een hoop maar ik werk er zo slecht mee ;)

Ik was niet echt duidelijk, het omzetten had ik al eens gedaan op een 500GB drive, en ging makkelijk inderdaad.
Maar de vraag is eigenlijk, of het niet een struktuur probleem wordt daar het een multimedia disk betreft.

Aan Ootje, willem b , @^@ , george 1956, eucalypta,freek willem , het mannetje Joy en nog een paar mensen wiens nick hier regelmatig terugkomt , en dus de vaste waarden uitmaken van dit (ondanks zizzy) toch wel tot een forum uitgegroeid reactie veld op de aangeboden GotD, is er niemand onder jullie die een webstekje kan opzetten waar we regelmatig eens van gedachten kunnen wisselen? Het kan natuurlijk ook over de aangeboden soft gaan, maar da's ondertussen duidelijk niet de hoofdzaak waarom we een aantal keren per dag hier terug komen kijken en lezen.
Mijn Pc kennis is te beperkt om zoiets op poten te zetten, maar 'k ben ervan overtuigd dat er hier echt whizzkids zijn die dat in een vingerknip voor elkaar hebben!

Compliment aan # 99 Bibi. Dat is fraai. Vooralsnog is het me onduidelijk hoe iemand dit voor elkaar krijgt.
Dan nog over het mps syndroom (is twee maal syndroom, ik weet het). Dit is toch iets dat niet zomaar door leken gesteld mag worden. Het is een vrij ernstige ziekte die zelfs ook door artsen vaak over het hoofd wordt gezien door de mate van zeldzaamheid. Er spelen factoren van overerfbaarheid een rol. Enzymen, dragers zonder de ziekte. Teveel om zomaar uit te leggen.
Als sneer naar iemand die herhaaldelijk van pseudo verwisselt is het te begrijpen. Voor mij is hiermee dit onderwerp afgesloten. Ik ga niet in op medische aspecten. Dat moet u respecteren. Groet van Willem b.

Waarom geen boot-cd maken?
De CD werkt altijd, ook buiten GOTD om.
Ander voordeel, er werkt geen enkel besturingssysteem vanaf HD.
Daarom geen gedonder daarmee. En vaak moet de pc herstart worden, voordat de acties uitgevoerd worden -> betekent dus, dat ze het opstartmenu aanpassen.(zelf 2 menu's achter elkaar: eerst Win7 of oud OS, en dan WinXP Les of Eigen) En dat is iets, waar ik niet wil, dat ze eraan komen en waar de fouten gemakkelijk kunnen gebeuren. Las hier, dat iemand z'n OS naar z'n grootje geholpen had.
Met een cd is dat risico kleiner.
Maar blijft: voor alles, maak een backup. En nu het voorjaar is: grote schoonmaak? Welk programma gebruik je eigenlijk niet? weg ermee
