Converting High-Definition (HD) to Standard-Definition (SD) is easy, any such program can do it, also freeware. But I don't understand how you can INCREASE the definition of an SD video by converting it to HD. Just increasing the dimensions of the screen won't increase definition and quality, it will reduce both and make the blurring more noticeable.
More elaborate and convincing explanation is required for that claim to be credible.

That's a good question.
Converting to HD is really making a MUCH larger file with a long time. I will take an HD picture for instance.
A 1920 x 1080 resolution HD picture has 1920 x 1080 pixels in it = 2073600 pixels.
A 320 x 240 picture has only 76800 pixels.
That means converting 320 x 240 to 1920 x 1080 (HD) means 27 times as much information. Videos are all the same.
So a poor original video file is ALWAYS going to get bad result when converting to HD. That is not the fault of the program, whatever other softwares you use, it MUST NOT reach your expected results. However, you might be satisfied with the effect if you convert from 320P to 480P, 480P to 720P, 720P to 1080P, 1080P to 4K.
Video conversion involves in many factors like video transcoding, compression, etc. Image quality, conversion speed and smaller size - How to keep the balance? That's a shared issue among multi-media developers.
If you increased the definition, HD Video Converter Factory Pro will process your video with the unique conversion technology to get the best result, like enhancing contrast, sharpen, noise reduction and etc.

Installed and registered without problems, opened up to an interface I recognised as WonderFox as soon as I went to select the output format, a really sensible design.
I was pretty well ready to slate this converter as soon as I saw converting from SD to HD, but before that happened the developers gave a convincing argument when they answered Tomcat.
Obviously you cannot put information into a video that doesn't exist but you can give a perception of improvement using various effects which apparently the program does with this type of conversion.
Like most of us I have no shortage of video converters but as my vision has deteriorated with old age,
I find that increasing sharpness and manipulating contrast and brightness make viewing so much easier and I wanted to try the effects offered by this program.
I found the increase in sharpness to be very effective but not controllable nor could I combine it with other effects, a serious omission in my opinion.
I really like the interface and I can make use of the effects and so I am going to keep it.

@ DeLudo - Iets zegt me dat u iets zuidelijker woonachtig bent, en hier mogelijk voor de eerste keer op GTOD(NL) bent aangeland. Welkom zou ik zeggen. De setup.exe is geen echte setup maar roept het bestand met extentie .gcd aan om te controleren of het wordt uitgevoerd op de datum van de giveaway (morgen gaat het niet meer werken...). Spijtig genoeg wordt deze methode van legitieme controle ook door verspreiders van kwalijker software toegepast en daarom zie je hier veel klachten over virus-meldingen... Onterecht?
Niet helemaal, soms wordt er als "bonus" nogal wat reclame mee ingepakt met de setup van de leverancier. Voor niks gaat de zon niet eens meer op!
Ik geef u het advies om eens de commentaren van een paar programmas uit het verleden te lezen. oa. Krypteller en Ootje hebben regelmatig hier zinnige opmerkingen over geplaatst.
Overigens vind ik persoonlijk het niet verstandig om zonder gedegen maatregelen (zie de adviezen bij vorige posts) software op uw systeem te installeren alleen om te bezien of het bruikbaar is. Maar dat is geheel aan u.
