Iris combines all tips, tricks and medical researches for eye health and eye protection. It reminds you to take short breaks on regular intervals, makes your monitor better and improves your sleep. Iris blocks distractions and was build with productivity and health in mind. And most of all I update it regularly based on your feedback and on new innovative ideas for health and productivity.

I don't recommend it at all. After installation the display started to flicker terribly, and it was impossible to remove it normally (both via Windows uninstall and the uninstall.exe file in the program folder) - I had to use the restore point and only after the second try I was successful...

I'm the creator of Iris. All ideas and feedback is welcome. Please note that Iris is not a big company. It's one man project. I work and improve it every day and I read and take notes on all feedback, althought sometimes I can't respond immedially :)
1. Why is Iris contacting 104.27.158.73, 104.27.159.73, 216.58.196.110 and other ip's?
2. Will Iris not work on PC's without internet connection?
3. Please consider making UI more user friendly in future versions.

After the installation process is finished, run the application and switch on the "Use Advanced Settings" option. (Screenshot). At the bottom of the window you will see the numbers of the setting pages. Scroll right to page 22 to get to the activation window and use the code from readme.txt to activate the product (Screenshot).

I notice that this software is sold on a monthly license model, and this giveaway offers a 1 year license - usually this just means you won't get free updates after a year, but in this case does it mean the software will stop working after a year? $10/month is a lot to pay when there are free alternatives for most of the functions of the software.

De introductie op de website van de maker vond ik niets, erg vaag, maar er zit meer achter dit unieke programma. Het programma zorgt ervoor dat het kijken naar een monitor minder vermoeiend wordt. Het doet dat met technische middelen en met middelen die je aanmoedigen je ogen rust te geven.

Er zijn vele mitsen en maren want de beeldkwaliteit kan belangrijk zijn. Dan heb je nog de 1jarige licentie & de prijs als het bevalt (merk je pas na langere tijd lijkt me).

de prijs is aardig voor één jaars gebruik.
Glanzende beeldschermen geven "mooier" beeld.
Mijn vorige laptop had ook zo'n scherm, hetgeen prima werkt, totdat er een raam achter je is. Of je loopt buiten het WiFi ontvangst te meten. Dan is er niets te lezen op het scherm.
De huidige laptop heeft een mat scherm en nu kan ik op plaatsen werken, waar het vroeger eigenlijk niet mogelijk was. Zelfs nu staat er een glanzende laptop ernaast voor onderhoud en ik moet vaak bewegen om goed te zien wat er staat.
LED laten knipperen om de helderheid te beïnvloeden is voor mij een nieuwtje. Ik dacht, dat de spanning verminderd werd, zoals ik het ook bij een zaklantaarn merk.

Ootje, ik houd ook niet van glansschermen, mooier beeld is niet altijd beter in de praktijk idd.
Wel knap dat iemand dit in zijn eentje in elkaar heeft gezet, maar ik ga dit niet installeren; programma grijpt diep in in het systeem, en het programma behoeft duidelijk nog wat ontwikkelling gezien het commentaar aan USkant.
P.S> Oled blijkt ook gebruik te maken van PWM (knipperen) voor vermindering helderheid helaas, achtergrondverlichting via LEDs heb je dan weer niet nodig.

Als je door deze schermen navigeert is het lastig, dat de knoppen steeds van plek veranderen:

Nog niet vaak gezien, dat een site een IP6 nummer heeft en het tweede nummer is iets anders.
Ik geloof, ergens op de site gelezen te hebben, dat er gegevens worden bijgehouden voor beter gebruik en ontwikkeling van de software.
Ook kan de camera worden geactiveerd; misschien om te merken, dat de gebruiker niet meer achter de PC zit en dus automatisch een pauze inlast.

In WinXP VM is de installatie van het programma niet gelukt; volgens de opgave zou WinXP ondersteund worden.
Vandaag een losse Setup zonder taalkeuze met de invoer van de code uit de Readme:

En de vraag is niet eenduidig:
. bezig met de installatie van Iris: deze stoppen?
. of een reeds werkend programma Iris stoppen en deze is niet aanwezig?
Waarschijnlijk is het stoppen van een reeds aanwezige Iris bedoeld en met een klik op Ja en Nee gaat het proces verder.
Er komt een aanvraag voor contact met het internet door Visual C++:
